Hanging out · Vellore
This page is not about the food — the rest of the site covers that. It is about whether you can sit here for two hours without anyone looking at you.
Both branches · Open 10 AM – 9 PM, all days · Menu from ₹49
Every café in Vellore will tell you about its food. Almost none will tell you the thing you actually want to know when you are deciding where to meet friends: how long you can stay before the atmosphere changes.
Here, the answer is as long as you like, with one honest exception. Between 6 PM and 9 PM, and particularly at weekends, tables are genuinely in demand — we will not move you on, but you will feel it, and so will the people waiting.
Outside that window it is a different place. Afternoons are quiet, the food comes faster because the kitchen is not stacked, and a table is yours for as long as you want it.

The single biggest factor in whether two hours is pleasant or endured.
No purchase threshold and no code to ask for at the counter.
Group seating rather than a room of two-tops, so six people are in one conversation.
À la carte means shakes now, fries later, dessert whenever — rather than one order and the end of the visit.
For eight or more, call ahead and we will lay the upstairs room out for you.
Silk Mill on Katpadi Road is the louder, younger room — the campus and Katpadi crowd, and the better choice if you want atmosphere rather than quiet.
Sankaranpalayam on R.T.M Street is more mixed, with families through the evening. If your group wants to hear each other, that is the one.
Both close at 9 PM, which is the real constraint on a long evening here. Start earlier than you think you need to.
Both our branches are set up for it — air conditioned, free WiFi, group seating and no pressure to leave. The honest caveat is 6 PM to 9 PM at weekends, when tables are in demand; come earlier and the room is yours.
As long as you like. We will not move you on. Outside the evening rush that is genuinely comfortable; during it you will feel the demand for the table even though nobody says anything.
No minimum spend and no purchase threshold for the WiFi. Order in rounds across the evening if you prefer — that is what à la carte is for.
Silk Mill at Katpadi is louder and younger, being close to the campus. Sankaranpalayam is more mixed and easier for a conversation. Same menu and prices at both, so it is purely about the room you want.
