A hall for the size of party people actually have

Vellore is well served at both ends. If you are marrying off a relative there are function halls with kitchens and contracts. If four of you want dinner, any restaurant will do. The awkward size is the one in between — twelve to thirty people who want to be in a room together, be a bit loud, and not sign anything.

That is what the upstairs hall is for. It is a separate room rather than a roped-off section, so the noise stays yours and you are not apologising to a couple on a date at the next table. It has long tables instead of scattered small ones, which is the actual difference between a group event and a group of people eating in the same building.

There is no room hire. You are paying for what the group eats and drinks, which means a hall booking is not a fixed cost you then have to justify.

It is worth being straight about this, because the wrong booking wastes everybody's evening. This is a café hall, not a banquet facility. There is no stage, no separate service kitchen, and no in-house event coordination beyond arranging the room and the decoration.

If you are planning a wedding reception, a several-hundred-guest function or anything that needs a dais and a sound system, a function hall is the right call and we will say so on the phone rather than take the booking.

What we are good at is the fifteen-to-thirty-person evening: a birthday, a farewell, a team dinner, a group of friends who want a room. Those we can do well.
