We do not take reservations for small tables, and for groups we very much do. Here is what a call gets you and why walking in with fifteen people rarely goes well.

Why we ask groups to call
It is not bureaucracy. A café fills table by table across an evening, and by seven o'clock on a Saturday the room is a patchwork of twos and fours. A group of fifteen arriving into that cannot be seated together without moving people who are halfway through dinner, so what actually happens is the group gets split across three corners of the room and the evening is spoiled for everybody.
One phone call avoids all of it. If we know a group is coming, we hold the space and lay it out before you arrive — and the difference between those two outcomes is about ninety seconds of your time.
Eight is the number where this starts to matter. Below that we will usually fit you in; above it, please call.
What to tell us when you call

The date and arrival time
A real time rather than an optimistic one — the room is held around it.
How many people
A range is fine if the number is not final. It is the single most useful thing you can give us.
Which branch
Sankaranpalayam on R.T.M Street, or Silk Mill on Katpadi Road. Same menu, same prices — pick on convenience.
Whether it is an occasion
A birthday, a farewell or an anniversary changes how we set up. So does a cake.
Timing, which decides most of it
Both branches open at 10 AM and close at 9 PM, every day. The busiest stretch by a distance is 6 PM to 9 PM, and heaviest of all at weekends.
If your group is flexible, an afternoon or an early evening is a genuinely better experience: more of the room, faster food from a kitchen that cooks everything to order, and no queue at the counter on the way out. If it has to be a Saturday at eight, that is fine — just call earlier than you otherwise would.
And bear the closing time in mind when planning. A group arriving at half past eight is not going to get a long evening.
Questions we get asked
Do you take table reservations?
Not for small tables — for those it is first come, first served. For groups of eight or more, calling 97892 90974 ahead is exactly what we ask for, and it is the difference between sitting together and being split across the room.
How big a group can you seat?
It depends on the date, the time and the branch, so give us your headcount on the phone and we will answer honestly for that day. Larger groups go upstairs in the hall rather than in the main dining room.
Can a group order on separate bills?
Yes. Cash, all major cards and UPI work at both branches and splitting is routine. If it is a big group, nominating one person to settle is much faster at the end of the evening.
What is the best time to bring a large group?
An afternoon or an early evening. Our peak is 6 PM to 9 PM and weekends are heaviest, so a group that can come earlier gets more room, quicker food and no wait at the counter.
