We host birthdays at both our Vellore branches — a hall you can decorate, food the whole group actually wants to eat, and a bill that does not turn a good evening into an argument.

Why people book us for birthdays
Most birthday venues in Vellore are one of two things: a restaurant that will push two tables together and hope for the best, or a banquet hall that wants a per-plate contract and a guest list three weeks out. Neither suits a group of fifteen who decided on Tuesday to do something on Friday.
We sit in the middle. There is a proper upstairs hall with long tables rather than a corner of the dining room, so the group is together and nobody is shouting across a walkway. The food comes off the same menu as any other evening, which means everybody orders what they actually want instead of eating whatever the fixed menu decided for them. And because it is à la carte, a table of ten and a table of thirty cost what they eat.
It also means you are not paying for a venue you then have to fill. There is no entry charge per head and no room hire on top of the food.
What a birthday booking gets you
Everything below is arranged over a phone call — there is no booking form to fill in.
The group seated together
Long tables in the upstairs hall rather than a scatter of two-tops. Tell us the headcount when you call and the layout is set before you arrive.
Decoration, if you want it
A balloon arch and a lit birthday sign, set up before the group walks in so the surprise lands. This needs notice — see the decoration page for how much.
The full menu, not a party menu
Pizzas, loaded fries, burgers, momos, wraps, thick shakes and brownies, all made to order. Nothing is pre-cooked and held for a function.
Your own cake
Bring the cake. Tell us when you call so we have plates, a knife and somewhere sensible to keep it until the moment.
Air conditioning and card or UPI
Both branches are air conditioned and take cash, all major cards and UPI, so splitting the bill afterwards is not a problem.

Call or WhatsApp with the date and headcount
Ring 97892 90974. Tell us the date, roughly how many people, which branch suits you and roughly when you will arrive.

Say whether you want decoration
If you want the balloon setup, say so on that first call — it is the part that needs the most notice, and a same-day request usually cannot be done.

Turn up and order
The tables are ready. Everyone orders off the normal menu, the kitchen cooks to order, and you settle one bill or several at the counter on the way out.
Which branch to choose
Both branches serve the identical menu at identical prices, so pick on location and on who is coming.
Sankaranpalayam, on R.T.M Street, is the original kitchen and the easier one for family groups arriving from around town — it is close to the main Vellore bus stand and has family seating. Silk Mill, on the first floor of Sai Complex on Katpadi Road, is the easier one for anyone coming from Katpadi or the VIT side, and it is built for the bigger, louder student groups.

Questions we get asked
Do you charge extra to celebrate a birthday at the café?
There is no entry charge per head and no separate room hire — you pay for the food and drinks the group orders. Decoration is the one thing that can carry a cost, because it involves materials and setup time; ask when you call and we will tell you before you commit.
How many people can you seat for a birthday?
It depends on the date and the branch, so call 97892 90974 with your headcount and we will tell you honestly whether we can seat that group comfortably. For anything from eight people upwards, calling ahead is the difference between a table together and a table split across the room.
Can we bring our own birthday cake?
Yes. Mention it when you book so we have plates and a knife ready and somewhere to keep the cake until you want it. If you have a candle-and-lights moment planned, tell us roughly when and we will time the food around it rather than through it.
How far in advance should we book a birthday?
Call as early as you can, and at minimum a day ahead. Evenings between 6 PM and 9 PM are the busiest stretch of our week, especially at weekends, and a group that turns up unannounced at 7 PM on a Saturday will usually be waiting.
