Terms of Use

This website is run by Black Bird Cafe (“Black Bird Café”, “we”, “us”), a café and restaurant with two branches in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

These terms cover the website only. Ordering, payment, delivery and refunds are handled by whichever service you actually order through, under that service’s own terms — see Ordering and payment.

You may browse this site, and print or save pages, for your own personal and non-commercial use. In return, please do not:

• use it in a way that damages it, or interferes with anyone else’s access;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, to the server it runs on, or to any connected system;
• copy or harvest its content systematically in order to republish it or run a competing service;
• use it for anything unlawful.

The menu on this site is generated from our kitchen system when the site is built. It is published in good faith and kept as accurate as we can, but it is for information only and is not an offer to sell.

• Items sell out, come off the menu seasonally, or are unavailable at one branch and not the other.
• Prices can change. The price that applies is the one shown at the point of ordering — on the table app, at the counter, or on the delivery platform — not necessarily the one shown here.
• Photographs are for illustration. What arrives at your table will not be styled for a camera.
• Where a listing contains an obvious error, we are not obliged to honour it.

Vegetarian and non-vegetarian markers on the menu are provided as a guide and are maintained carefully. Please read this section anyway if you have an allergy.

Our kitchens are shared spaces. The same surfaces, equipment and oil handle ingredients including nuts, dairy, egg, soy, wheat and gluten, so we cannot guarantee that any dish is free of any given allergen, however it is described.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please tell our staff before you order, in person or on the phone, so we can tell you what is actually in a dish and what we can and cannot do. Do not rely on this website alone to make that decision — recipes and suppliers change, and this page will not always be the first thing to catch up.

You cannot place an order or make a payment on this website. It carries no cart and takes no card details. Orders are placed:

• at your table, through our ordering app, by scanning the QR code on the table — live at our Sankaranpalayam branch, and coming soon at Silk Mill;
• in person at the counter, or by phone;
• for takeaway and delivery, through Kivo, Zomato or Swiggy.

Where we recommend one delivery platform over another, that is a preference about commission rates, not a statement about the price you will pay: each platform sets its own menu prices, delivery charges and fees, and we do not control them.

Each of those has its own terms, and its own rules on cancellation, refunds and delivery. A contract for food is formed there, with whoever operates that service — not by anything you do on this site.

The customer reviews on our home page are genuine reviews published publicly on Google, reproduced as written and attributed to the reviewer’s public display name. The opinions in them are the reviewers’ own, not ours, and one customer’s experience is not a promise of yours.

The overall rating shown alongside them is the aggregate figure published on our Google Business Profile at the time this site was last built, and it moves as new reviews come in. If you are a reviewer and would like your review taken off this site, contact us and we will remove it.

The text, photography, layout, logo and branding on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not reuse them commercially, or in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.

Names, logos and trade marks belonging to other companies — the platforms and services mentioned on this site — belong to their respective owners.

This site links out to services we do not run, including WhatsApp, Kivo, Zomato, Swiggy, Instagram, Google Maps and our own ordering app. We include those links because they are useful. We do not control what is on them, we do not endorse everything they contain, and we are not responsible for them. Their terms and privacy policies apply once you get there.

We provide this site free of charge and on an “as is” basis. We do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it — including opening hours, branch details and the menu — without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, or from reliance on information published on it, such as loss of profit, loss of business or wasted expenditure.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded— including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and our obligations under food safety and consumer protection law.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Vellore, Tamil Nadu shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this website.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. These terms were last updated on 15 August 2026. Please check back occasionally.
