If you are in Vellore for someone at CMC, eating is the last thing you want to think about. This page is written for that, rather than for a day out.

What actually matters when you are here for a hospital
People come to CMC from all over south India and stay for days or weeks, often sleeping badly, often on a budget that was never planned for. What they need from a restaurant is not ambience. It is food that is quick, affordable, recognisable, and available at the same times every single day so it becomes one less decision.
Our Sankaranpalayam branch on R.T.M Street is the one on the town side, nearer the main bus stand and the older part of Vellore. It opens at 10 AM and closes at 9 PM, seven days a week — including Sundays and most public holidays, which is exactly when a lot of places in the area are shut.
It is air conditioned, which sounds like a small thing until you have spent six hours in a waiting area.
Practical things worth knowing
Veg and non-veg on the same menu
Every category has both, marked item by item. Families travelling together rarely eat the same way, and nobody has to compromise.

A long stay is expensive enough. Two people can eat properly here without it being a decision.
Takeaway from the counter
If somebody cannot leave, order at the counter and carry it back. Wraps, sandwiches and momos travel best and need no cutlery.
Call ahead and collect
Ring 97892 90974 and it will be packed and ready rather than started when you walk in. Worth it if you are on a short window.
Open every day
10 AM to 9 PM, including weekends. Same hours, same menu, no surprises.
Which branch, and getting there
We have two, about six kilometres apart. Sankaranpalayam is the town-side one and the sensible choice from the hospital area; Silk Mill is out at Katpadi, which is the wrong direction unless you are already up there.
We deliberately do not print a travel time. It depends on traffic and on where exactly you are starting from, and the last thing anyone in your position needs is a number that turns out to be wrong. The branch page has a directions link that routes to the door.

Do you deliver to CMC Hospital?
Kivo, Zomato and Swiggy deliver from us and cover the town. Kivo is the local Vellore app and takes a much smaller commission from us. If you can collect instead, calling ahead and picking it up from the counter is faster and costs nothing in platform fees.
Do you have pure vegetarian food?
We have a full vegetarian range across every category, marked on every item. What we cannot claim is a separate vegetarian kitchen — it is one small kitchen handling both. If that matters for your family, please ask us directly and we will be straight with you.
Are you open on Sundays?
Every day, 10 AM to 9 PM, including Sundays and most public holidays. The hours do not change week to week.
