Better than eating on the platform

A short ride from Katpadi Junction on Katpadi Road — close enough to be worth it if you have an hour, and there is a takeaway counter if you would rather carry it onto the train.

Both branches · Open 10 AM – 9 PM, all days · Menu from ₹49

How much time do you actually have?

It is the only question that matters at a station, so decide it first and the rest follows.

With an hour or more, sit down. Everything is cooked to order, which means a short wait and food that is worth the trip off the platform — a pizza, a plate of loaded fries and a thick shake is a considerably better hour than a station snack.

With less, order for takeaway and carry it with you. Pizzas travel best, wraps and grilled sandwiches are the easiest to eat one-handed on a train, and momos hold up well. Call ahead on 97892 90974 and it can be packed and waiting when you arrive rather than started when you walk in.

What travels well

Not everything on the menu survives a journey. This is the honest sorting.

Pizzas

The most reliable thing to take with you — they hold their heat better than anything else we make and they are easy to share.

Wraps and grilled sandwiches

Hand food, no cutlery needed, and they do not go soggy in the time it takes to reach a platform.

Momos and nuggets

Good for picking at across a long journey, and they pack tightly.

Shakes and slush — think twice

They are blended to order and do not sit well. Fine if you are drinking it here; a poor idea for a six-hour train.

Before you set off

We are on Katpadi Road at Thayumanavar Street, beside the Fastrack showroom, first floor of Sai Complex. The branch page has a directions link that routes to the door rather than the neighbourhood.

We open at 10 AM and close at 9 PM, every day. If your train is very early or very late, we are not the answer, and it is better to know that now than to walk over and find us shut.

The 6 PM to 9 PM stretch is our busiest, so if you are on a tight connection in the evening, ring ahead and have it packed rather than ordering at the counter.

Questions we get asked

Is there a good place to eat near Katpadi Junction?

Our Silk Mill branch is on Katpadi Road, a short ride from the junction — everything cooked to order rather than kept warm, from ₹49. If you have an hour, it is worth leaving the station for; if not, call ahead and collect a takeaway.

Can I order ahead and collect on the way to my train?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. Call 97892 90974, tell us roughly when you will arrive, and it will be packed and ready rather than started when you walk in. That matters most during the evening rush.

Are you open early for morning trains?

We open at 10 AM and close at 9 PM, seven days a week. For an early-morning or late-night connection we will be shut, and we would rather tell you that plainly than have you make the trip.

What food is best to carry onto a train?

Pizzas hold their heat best; wraps and grilled sandwiches are the easiest to eat without cutlery; momos and nuggets pack well for picking at. Skip the shakes and slush — they are blended to order and do not travel.
